After a rewarding career as a physician specializing in Nephrology and Palliative Care, Merryn now focuses on creative writing. Her essay, Breathing Lessons, published in Just Breathe: COVID Stories From The Heart of Minnesota in The Words of Caregivers, captures the disconnect and isolation of the pandemic years. Her debut novel, Seeking Sarah, published under the name of M. A. Robinson, centers on forgiveness, healing, and understanding the complexities of addiction and trauma. The novel was awarded Silver for Mainstream Fiction in the 2024 Royal Palm Literary Awards.

Originally from a small town in Indiana, Merryn now splits her time between north central Minnesota and northern Florida. When she is not glued to her keyboard, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, kayaking, gardening,  practicing yoga, and sharing good dinners with great friends.
