The Space Coast Writers Guild Board of Directors

Thom Lofgren, President
Second Term ends April 2027
T.W. (Thom) Lofgren, originally from the Buckeye State, became an active member of the SCWG in 2019. His education includes a BFA in photography from Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology and a Master in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University. His photography career spans corporate and hospital settings as well as self-employment. Advancements in technology forced a change in careers, and he held several positions within the Claims department of a major insurance company.
He has written numerous short stories and published a novel, Too Late to Pray, which details a cat’s journey across a dystopian America.
Thom has served as Treasurer, Vice-President, and President in the Columbus, OH chapter of the ITVA (International Television Association), a professional corporate organization dedicated to the non-broadcast television industry. He looks forward to applying the skills learned there to further the development of the SCWG.

Kit Adams, Treasurer
First Term ends April 2027
Kit (Christopher Robin) Adams has published for 55 years. He’s President of Scribblers, a Brevard writing group, and his poetry collection, Spanish Cedar, Preserving the Art of the Cigar Experience, appeared in March 2014.
His writings “The Train Station and Beyond” and “Johnny Ringdahl and Mr. Merritt” won first places in a Written in the Sun publication in 2022, as did his chapbook, Idealism in Realism: the Romantic Ideal in Victorian Poetry, in a SCWG competition.

Gwynne Eldridge, Secretary
Second Term ends April 2028
Gwynne Cates Eldridge is a retired teacher who taught English, ESE. ESOL, SAT prep, and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), a college preparatory course for students who are capable of college success but need extra readiness assistance. AVID was her favorite teaching assignment and made the last five years of her career especially meaningful. Gwynne’s doctoral thesis explored the personal and professional attributes of effective teacher leaders with the ultimate deduction that, “They (students, or indeed, people in general) don’t care what you know until they know you care.”
Gwynne has been published in a number of newspapers, trade journals, and most recently the SCWG poetry anthology. A Melbourne resident since 2021, she would rather read than eat, is a member of three book clubs and three writers’ groups, and writes to process her life experiences.

Jason Lee, Director at Large
First Term ends April 2027
Jason Lee (J.L. Harbinger) is a naturalized Floridian and long-time poet, currently residing on the Space Coast. Equally inspired to write by the challenges of life and various exceptionally talented artists, it was unexpected personal loss that ultimately motivated him to finally publish his work, Making Sense of Shadows, in 2021.
His main source of inspiration continues to be the driving force and theme for the majority of his writing: loss, and the transmutation of it into something beautiful, powerful, and meaningful.

Debbie Massey, Director at Large
First Term ends April 2028
Debbie Massey is an author, educator, artist, and active community volunteer with a passion for creativity, literacy, and giving back. She cofounded the Inspire Writers Group in Melbourne and has participated in numerous writing workshops, author events, and editing projects supporting fellow writers.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Longwood University in Virginia and studied Spanish at the Instituto de Lengua Española in San José, Costa Rica.
An accomplished children’s author, she has published Raymond of the Outer Banks: The Little Mule with a Big Heart, Melby the Talking Manatee, Jolly the Christmas Flamingo, and, most recently, The Great Adventures of Camilla the Sea Turtle, with portions of proceeds benefiting wildlife and conservation organizations.
