Genres: Science Fiction

Mark Kaufman writes science fiction and speculative fiction, though he is currently developing a mainstream novel as his next project.

He recently completed The Terraformers: The Story of Noah and Viridiana, about genetically engineered, non-biological twins who were separated at birth. Possessing plant-linked powers—including the ability to sense plant consciousness—they must reunite across a spiritual divide to secure a future for their species and save Earth from a coming extinction-level apocalypse before religious zealots destroy them. At its core, the novel explores what God may be up to vis-à-vis evolution.

The book is a sequel to The Terraformers (Stone Waters MD, Commonwealth Publications, 1996), which Cineflex Films, Inc. optioned for film, though it was never produced.

A retired physician with an MBA, Mark’s professional background includes medical practice and medical informatics, including electronic medical-record software product development, management, and consulting. His career included work with Computer Sciences Corporation, Siemens Corporation, and McKesson Information Solutions, Inc.
