Born in Yugoslavia, Gene acquired the love of literature from reading European classics.
Traveling around the world with his job, Gene learned to appreciate the taste of different cultures and the sound of inspiring stories that served as the source of many of his future publications.
Gene Luke has published several books in the Serbo-Croatian language by Prosveta Publishing House of Belgrade, Yugoslavia, and a few novels written in English and published by KDP/Amazon. The Royal Palm Literary Award recognized The Artisan as the 2nd best historical novel of 2016.
Along with Mrs. Cynthia (Cindy) Foley and Mr. James R. Nelson, Gene Luke is the co-founder of the Brevard Authors Society. Gene Luke is a member of the Brevard Authors Society, a lifetime member of Space Coast Writers Guild, Florida Writers Association, and the Society of Serbian Writers, Belgrade, YU.
