Rose draws upon her experiences as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother as inspiration for her writing, but especially for her column Rose’s Room, which ran weekly in the Florida Today newspaper for three years. Also, having previously appeared monthly in the Hometown News-Forever Young magazine, Rose’s Room and On the Road with Rose now appear monthly in the Port Saint John Happenings newspaper.
